We have read so many novels, stories, poems or watched so many movies that idealizes love, glorifies it, shows you the silver lining. Love is hope, love is life, without love life is nothing - so many things have been said about love. Yet, have you realized these qualities of love in your life? I feel the opposite. The more you love, the more you get hurt; the more you love, more you feel the pain. May be its the quality of love that it gives more pain than the happiness and pleasure it provides. Or may be love is an idealized concept that can exist only in an ideal world with ideal people. We human are by default selfish and in a selfish world the world love is truly insignificant. You will only be loved as long as you are needed. The need may not only be material, but also emotional. When the need is gone, love is also gone. There is a song in hindi sung by great Lataji, "dur se dekho to tarron ki barat lagti hain, paas aao to asu ki nadiya behti hain". It means as long as you are looking at it from a distance, it seems like a heavenly thing but when you come closer you feel the pain, feel the tear. If you falling in love, be ready to feel the pain as well. If you are getting the comfort of having someone special close to you, get ready to feel the tear of separation.
For love to show its ideal properties, the person you love have to be an ideal person so that no matter whatever you do you will always be loved. And only GOD can be that person. May be thats why its again and again said that to get peace, to get true love, love GOD. Amen!
